I think its because the conditions vary so much – we’ve had several boxes, usually get four or five crops per box, about 850grams to 1 kilo of mushrooms. One box even survived 3 house moves in 6 months and produced 900 grams, which I was particularly impressed with as the conditions were less than ideal, including a few nights in a hotel room!
